Site Breeze v1.02 is a dynamic tool used to easily update your website with just a few clicks, making your fast paced life a little easier. You can use the demo version (free download) for 20 times, and then it expires. Installing Site Breeze is easy, asking for the install path and add a shortcut to your desktop. It also will prompt you to install Java 2 Runtime, which you can decline. The interface is very clean and there is not much clutter at all. When the program launched I was prompted with a screen titled 'what would you like to do?’ This is a step in the right direction for Triple hash; you really can't get simpler then this. I chose 'I want to create a new site'. By doing this it creates a folder (wherever you want) which contains an images, style sheets and content folders along with an index.html file. To get the ball rolling all you need to do is double-click on the index.html file and a notepad-type box comes up where you can edit the contents. In the preferences I found a built in FTP client which works very well and quickly, with the click of the publish button your information is uploaded to your FTP instantly. Also if you ever get stuck, Triple Hash as added a very nice tutorial that should answer all of your questions. I really enjoyed the advanced section, here I could add custom variables, use/create templates, choose languages, and keep a history of the different versions of my website that I had on file. The only thing I didn't like about this software is that it came with a feature that I personally would never use. On the bottom there is a 'To do List' where you can create tasks and click on the 'done' checkbox when you've completed it. I would have used this space more effectively, possibly making a taskbar where I can switch between different sites or something. I would also make the graphics (buttons) within the software a little more eye-catching. Overall Site Breeze was easy to use and performance was impressive with load times of less than 5 seconds. At $145 US, this is one of the cheaper web-update tools we've seen so far, a really good bang for your buck. |
