| Interstellar Trader 2
Trader 2 is a useful and enjoyable game for anyone in the household. The strong focus on investing and the fluctuating markets on the planets in the game make for a educational and real life experience. The game involves using only the mouse to decide what you would like your fleet to do, what you want to buy or sell, and on what planets you wish to sell. Banners at the top of the screen allow for the gamer to keep up to the minute on their stock prices as well as tips on what planet to buy or sell merchandise on. The game has great color and is easy to get into and understand. After 5 minutes of playing the gamer will know pretty much what he has to do to remain in the game. There are ‘lotto’ like games that help the gamer along, as well as the option of visiting the Prime Minister of each planet for advice. Upgrades for the ship are available given you have a sufficient amount of credits to spend. There is a Trade Center where the gamer can purchase goods such as food or computer parts at low prices, hold them and sell when the prices rise for that good. The Investment Center is the most visited area of the game and allows for the gamer to buy and sell stocks, while keeping a careful eye on the fluctuating prices. Buy low, sell high. This game is a great introduction to any youth who is interested in investment. The money/credit handling makes the gamer cautious about what to buy, and the Pirates who can attack your ship have the ability to take all of your items in one hit. These pirates act as the one thing in the economy that no one has the ability to stop; just like in real life you can lose it all in one hit. To sum it up, the game is generally quite basic and easy to understand. This game is great for anyone interested in buying and selling stocks, or anyone learning about the economy. It is very realistic, but at the same time has the ability to keep the attention and interest of the gamer. Highly recommended for a low key, realistic game to relax and play around with. We had a lot of fun reviewing this! |
