| Chrysanth Mail Manager 2.2.13.478
This program will streamline your daily email browsing by automatically removing spam and other unwanted email content. INTRODUCTION It is always fun to have to sift through your growing mound of email to find that ones that actually apply to you. Of course you wanted to know about being able to buy car insurance online. If this sounds depressingly familiar to you then Chrysanth Mail Manager might just be what you are looking for. This program is designed to allow you to open your email in the morning and it will go through your inbox and automatically discard spam or any other type of email content that you decide. INSTALLATION Installing this program is extremely simple. There is a single icon to click to start the install and it is just over 3 megabytes in size so it is quick to download on any connection. The full installation takes 4.21 megabytes, so it is a very small footprint on the drive itself. CONFIGURATION Setting the program up is what will take the majority of the installation time. For this you will need to know several more technical aspects of you email setup. You will need to know your POP3 and news server name. When you first install it, a screen will pop up asking for the basic information that the program will need to be able to fit into your existing email setup.
INTERFACE The interface is simple and straightforward. The program has the functionality duplicated in quick buttons in their own toolbar along with the standard menu along the top of the screen. All of the quick buttons have a small dropdown option beside the icon to give you full access to all the choices available in the text based menu.
FUNCTIONALITY This program really starts flexing it's muscle once it is configured and running. It has programmed into it, an existing category of spam sources and names. From the beginning it quickly listed all stored email in my folder and sorted it into two categories, identified spam and normal. click on the button or text menu choice 'process mail' and it will start to delete all mail currently selected as spam. The initial configuration will take the most time of course. There may be messages that have gotten selected as spam that are legitimate emails that you want to keep. You can arrange to keep them by flagging them as 'friend' from that column. By the same token, if you see email that are listed as 'normal' and you are sure they are spam, you can flag them in the 'blacklisted' column and they will be deleted with the spam when the email is processed. If you are not sure if an email is spam, the program will give you the option of opening the message and either examining the contents or checking the header information. I ran this program using an email account that had over 1,700 spam emails on it. Using just the programs built in spam filter 1,172 of the emails were identified immediately as spam. All it took was to click on the 'Process Email' button and the system cleared out all of the identified emails. Creating a new filter to further define the email content that you do not want to receive was very easy. It was a simple matter of chosing 'filter' from the dropdown menu and going through a fairly straightforward process to identify what key phrases I was looking for in other email. The program will allow you to define a filter for email that you want to remove and email that is legitimate and you want to keep. Now I was running the program on a system with a 2.2 GHz AMD processor, 1 Gb of pc2600 DDR RAM, 128 Mb ATI 8600 video card and it takes about 2 minutes to process 200 emails. So, if you are having a problem with a large number of emails, I recommend planning on taking an hour or so to configure and then detail any additional filters you think are necessary. The good news is that it is extremely easy to update filters once they are in place and the filters are not case sensitive. It may seem like the filters are not working some times, but I have found that it can be easy to not notice that the line you are looking at is not in the subject line, but is instead located on the 'from' line, or some other element of the email. Once you have identified the proper location for the filter, it will find and properly identify the spam.
CONCLUSION Spam is a serious concern for any business that tries to utilize the internet for communication. The number of spam emails has been growing at a tremendous rate since it started. Chrysanth Mail Manager will make a difference to your time management. When it is configured and used properly, this programming will allow you to minimize the impact that spam has on your business and other online activities. DEMO
