INTRODUCTION

DHTML Menu Builder is the perfect tool for creating professional, compatible, menus without any prior knowledge of HTML or other scripting language. With its abundance of features, you can add images, or special effects to your menus with ease and reliability.

INSTALLATION & CONFIGURATION

The installation was nothing out of the ordinary, and there was no real configuration. Once it's installed, you're ready to make menus.

INTERFACE

The main interface consists of two sections; the menu list, and the properties. There is also a great wizard for beginners, or to get a good base to start building on.(Fig 1.0) Once you define all your menu and toolbar items, then you can change all the preferences and options for the menu such as transparencies, icons, different cursors, fade effects, etc. There are really no limits.

FUNCTIONALITY

With DHTML Menu Builder, a user can create a menu with a wide range of options and functions, easily and in no time at all. All the menus are compiled into a seperate javascript file, so it can be easily included into any html document without a lot of code. This makes the menus compatible with any browser, and makes the load times very small.

The realtime preview is a very nice addition to work with. Once you change any little thing of a menu item, it shows up right below where you're working. (Fig 1.2) One of the things i liked about the creating of menus was the advanced copy/paste that allows the copying of all of the settings of a menu item into another, instead of adding everything manually.

EASE OF USE

I was able to create a menu to suit my webpage within 2 minutes without ever using this program before. If that doesn't show how easy it is to use, then try out the demo yourself.(Fig 1.3)

CONCLUSION

DHTML Menu Builder is a very well thought out and designed program that is not only easy to use, but includes everything someone would need to satisfy their menu building needs. The price is a little high for personal use, but for a business tool, it's just right.
